What is a perfect day in New Smyrna Beach? Hmmm…I like to jumpstart every day with a cup of coffee. If it were a perfect day, that coffee would be piping hot, very strong and a little on the sweet and creamy side. Seconds after my empty cup hits the sink, I would pull back the sliding door, take a few steps and dive headfirst into the cool refreshment only my pool can provide. 

My joints would loosen and my muscles would come alive with every stroke; and when the blood in my veins was sufficiently pumping and full of oxygen, I would know I am ready for anything; and in New Smyrna Beach, that is exactly what you should be.

The rest of my perfect day might consist of any number of my favorite things…strolling palm-lined Canal Street with stops in its art galleries and unique boutiques. I might slide on into the Corkscrew for a tasty snack. I’m thinking crispy cod bites with homemade remoulade and sweet chili sauce for dipping. Or maybe my taste runs more toward seaside shopping up and down fun-filled Flagler, with a visit to the Ocean Breeze Tiki Bar to munch on firecracker shrimp while overlooking the ocean.

Now off to the beach to dip my toes in the warm, white sand and to get my fill of vitamin D; or maybe I play a round of golf on my favorite course. Then, most likely I circle back for poolside drinks with my peeps…play a little music, light some tiki lanterns and soak up the relaxing ambience of the night.
